The Wanderer
Commissioned by the Renasant Convention Center, City of Memphis and UrbanArt Commission
Inspired by geological surveys of the Mississippi River’s meander belt, The Wanderer tracks the path of the river over time, with each layer of the sculpture representing roughly a century of change. The stacking of the layers in space reveals the surprisingly dynamic and fluid nature of this vital natural resource.
